The first Swiss rum from Vaud.
The first rum from Switzerland comes from an old distillery in the area of Lake Geneva and is made on the basis of molasses from the Caribbean country Cuba. The Banqero Silver Rum exudes a pleasant scent of flowers and nature as soon as it is opened. The distillate is pleasantly soft on the palate and reveals complex aromas of caramel, cinnamon and liquorice.
The concept of a Swiss rum initially seems impossible, after all the raw material sugar cane only thrives in tropical warm temperatures. But this fact did not stop the two creators of Banqero Rum, Yann and Arnaud, from realizing their dream of a Swiss sugar cane distillate.
In 2019, the associated company was founded, which initially buys and imports organically grown sugar cane from monitored cultivation from Cuba. In Switzerland, the molasses is then distilled a total of four times before the clear Banqero Silver is then filled into the bottle. On the nose, the distillate shows primarily floral aromas that are reminiscent of flowers and fruits. On the palate, the versatile brandy made from sugar cane is varied with notes of liquorice, caramel and cinnamon. The distillate is ideal for pure enjoyment "On the Rocks" or for mixing in a variety of rum-based cocktails.
