The distiller Golden shows his golden side in every shot glass. The idea for this brandy made from Thurgau apples was born back in 1895. Since then, the secret recipe has been refined to today's exclusive apple brandy.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away - does that also apply to apple brandy? In any case, the master distiller Möhl Golden is a special taste experience. You have probably never tried apples like this before. The Möhl distillery has been fine-tuning the secret recipe for apple brandy since 1895. For his guests at Gasthof Rössli, Hans Georg Möhl wanted only the best. So he fermented apple juice for the first time and created the basis for today's master distiller Golden. Despite the hustle and bustle of the new alcohol ordinance in 1932, Hans Georg was not deterred and continued to burn, true to the motto of not having to burn much, only good.

The unique apple brandy, which is distilled with a lot of passion according to a traditional recipe, is still made in the distillery today. The brandy is clear as water and golden yellow at the same time. Apple notes on the nose with light hints of ripe banana and some wood. In terms of taste, the apple brandy convinces with its dry, soft and full-bodied texture. On the palate, intense aromas of baked apples, a slightly grassy note and a light feeling of vanilla and liquorice develop. There is a certain complexity in the finish.

The Möhl cider factory only sources the finest Thurgau apples from selected fruit growers for the brandy. The apples are then fermented in a mash fermentation and distilled in the Häfeli distillery. The distillate is then stored in wooden barrels. This special storage creates the beautiful golden color of the fire.
