The French lime syrup from Giffard in Nantes is a pure sugar syrup made from concentrated lime juice and without the addition of preservatives. It has the sweet taste and the sour, fruity note of sun-kissed lime.

The French pharmacist Emile Giffard founded the company named after him in Nantes in 1885, which specialized in the distillation of high-quality liqueurs and brought the former pharmacist a new, good reputation as a master distiller. Today the company is based in Angers, a city in north-western France. The company is still run today as a traditional family business.

The natural, fruity acidity of the lime, together with its light sweetness, makes this syrup a perfect ingredient for various fresh drinks and cocktails, with or without alcohol. On warm summer days, simple mineral water, whether carbonated or not, can be given a refreshing note with the lime syrup. The lime syrup from Gillard is also ideal for refining dishes and desserts.

The syrup is supplied in a clear, cylindrical glass bottle with a black screw cap and two gray-blue labels and another label with the list of ingredients on the back. The bottle holds one liter of the syrup.
