Herbal liqueur based on musk yarrow

The iva herbal liqueur is made from the musk yarrow in only small quantities. The name of the distillate is derived from this plant, because "Iva" is the Romansh name of the musk yarrow. The taste of this special liqueur is characterized by a pleasant sweetness with clear herbal notes and can be used excellently as a digestif or in cocktails.

Musk yarrow has been used on farms in the canton of Engadin for centuries. A liqueur is traditionally distilled from it, which at the time was even exported to distant France and Saxony. After the herb was almost forgotten, the traditional herbal liqueur has been distilled again for several years.

The musk yarrow, which is the basis of this herbal liqueur, is collected by hand at the Zernez from May to August and then processed in a gentle way. To do this, the herb is first placed in neutral alcohol for several days and macerated before it is pressed and filtered. In order to bring the herbal liqueur to drinking strength and to give the iva its final taste, the mixture is then mixed with sugar and water until the final product is ready. The herbal liqueur is then filled by hand and the bottles are sealed.

Each bottle of the special liqueur has a unique number and can therefore be precisely traced.
