A strong-tart, but gentle, citrus-fruity gin from Basel with a bright orange color.

There has been an almost unmanageable variety on the gin market for several years. That is why Oliver Ullrich and Iris Menne-Ullrich from Basel wanted their Maerke nginious! go their own way and create gins that stand out from others. They were the first to use old, disused vermouth barrels to mature their spirits.

Her latest creation is the "nginious! Colors" line. The taste character of the different gins should also be highlighted with a suitable color. In addition to seeing, smelling and tasting, the gin now appeals to another sense, which corresponds to the brand's philosophy of experiencing the drink with all of the senses as possible.

In order to achieve the respective color, three natural botanicals are added to the spirit after the distillation. This is how the bright colors of the "Colors" series are created. So far, the line has included the colors pink, yellow and orange, but it will be expanded in the near future and should ultimately cover the entire spectrum of the rainbow.

The "nginious! Colors: ORANGE" with 42 percent alcohol by volume gets its bright color from the addition of sea buckthorn, saffron and orange. It is suitable to be enjoyed pure, but can also make a wonderful gin and tonic with a dry tonic water.

The drink from Basel is delivered in a 50cl bottle, closed with a cork, the shape of which is reminiscent of a classic "flask".
