Studer 1653 Old Barrel Rum - 50cl
Swiss rum from Lucerne's Entlebuch.
The traditional Studer distillery offers an excellent barrel-aged Old Barrel Rum. The rum comes from the fascinating, culture and tradition-conscious Entlebuch Biosphere Reserve in Lucerne. Swiss quality now also for rum!
The Studer distillery, a family business that has been run by Käthi and Ivano Friedli-Studer since 1990, is always up for a good idea.
Located in the tranquil village of Escholzmatt, the unique tradition-conscious influence of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Entlebuch of the Canton of Lucerne flows into the products as well as innovative innovations.
Be it an original snow globe with gold tinsel in fruit brandy, lemon liqueur suitable for flambéing, "Swiss Highland Gin" or poison green absinthe - many special ideas are a trademark of the Studer distillery from Switzerland. With the involvement of the son Saverio, new aspects are always brought in. He will soon take over the distillery.
In 1883, the Studer distillery in Switzerland was founded by four brothers who were able to satisfy their adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit.
The product range includes the 1653 Old Barrel Rum, characterized by sweet honey and vanilla notes. Together with a gentle, spicy woodiness, it invites you to dream of the tropical sun. The year 1953 is intended to commemorate the Swiss Peasants' War - Christian Schybi, from Escholzmatt, played a key role. He happened to be married to an ancestor of the Studers.
The molasses is imported into Switzerland from Nicaragua, where the vast fields of sugar cane thrive under the subtropical sun thanks to the volcanic soil. After being distilled twice in the company's own pot still, it is stored in oak barrels. After about three to 6 years, selected barrels are opened. The wood for the barrels comes from French and Swiss trees.
The rum is put together and mixed with pure mountain spring water to a perfect drinking strength of 44.8%.
