Valdelana Reserva, Selección Tempranillo - 75cl
This Valdelana Reserva from Rioja was made from 95% of the Tempranillo grape and 5% of the Graciano grape variety. The rich red wine of the Selección Tempranillo comes from the traditional Bodegas Valdelana and can be stored for up to 12 years.
The Rioja wine-growing region is located in northeastern Spain on both sides of the Ebro, the Bodegas Valdelana in the Basque town of Elciego. Tempranillo is mainly grown in the region. The wines are characterized by their strong, fruity aroma and their high aging potential in wooden barrels, which is why their actual character is only developed in barrique aging. The Valdelana Reserva of the Selección Tempranillo has matured after three years in the barrel.
The strong red wine convinces with a deep ruby red color and a bouquet of plums, juniper and blue fruits. Notes of cedar wood, tobacco, vanilla and cloves round off the taste. Rich on the palate, the wine has fine tannins and a long finish with a varied aroma aftertaste. Enjoy the Valdelana Reserva with pasta, cheese, game and hearty meat dishes!
Wine has been made in the cellar of Bodegas Valdelana since 1583, with the winemaking family growing their own vines since the end of the 19th century. Juan Jesús Valdelana from the third generation of the family relies on traditional and innovative cellar technology: oak barrels and steel tanks. The long storage in oak barrels contributes to the global fame of the Rioja.
